Lexington Valley Vineyard
Current Wine Offerings
A crisp white wine primarily grown in Austria. It bursts with elegant green notes of lime, fresh herbs and peppercorn. Pairs with a wide variety of foods, from schnitzel to salads.
A French hybrid varietal, Vidal wine expresses clean, floral aromas with flavors of honey, pineapple, melon and pears. Pairs well with savory seafood dishes such as pasta with shellfish or grilled Chesapeake rockfish.
With its lofty floral aromas and bright fruit flavors of melon and spice, Traminette wine pairs perfectly with fresh Shenandoah rainbow trout or spicy Asian-style dishes such as Thai green curry.
Our Catawba is produced as a white wine, expressing sweet aromas of lychee fruit with modest acidity on the palate. Catawba pairs well with Virginia favorites such as oysters, scallops, and hard cheeses.
Red and Rosé
This French hybrid is dominated by aromas of rhubarb and cloves with raspberry and sour cherry on the palate. Pairs well with pork chops and savory sausages.
The parent grape of Bordeaux's famous Cabernet Sauvignon is characterized by a decidedly lighter expression than its descendant. It blooms with lilacs on the nose leading to cracked pepper, cedar and fresh rosemary on the palate. Our Cabernet Franc pairs well with bistro classics such as roast chicken or steak frites.
This heirloom Virginia grape was first cultivated in the Richmond area in the early 1800's. Norton wine expresses earthy aromas and concentrated flavors of blackberries, and chocolate, balanced by resilient acid, making it suitable for aging and enjoyable for pairing with rich foods such as barbecued meats, cheeses and southern fried cuisine.
Rosé of Cabernet Franc
A dry rosé inspired by the renowned specimens of the Loire and Provence, bursting with strawberry, lemon and soft juniper. Serve well chilled. Perfect for a summer picnic.
